Information You Provide to Us
We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide, including:
- Name and email address — when you fill out a contact form, request a consultation, or create a Studio account.
- Any other information you choose to include in messages or form submissions.
The Studio — account and profile information
The Studio is our members’ area at joindigitalfuture.com/studio. It is free, and it requires an account. When you create one and complete the sign-up questions we collect:
- Your email address, used to sign you in. We do not use passwords — we email you a code and a sign-in link.
- Your profile — name, photo, how you describe yourself, your venture name and one-line description, the stage you’re at, what you’re working on, what’s in your way, the areas you can help other members with, and the contact links you choose to share.
- Content you create — comments and replies on entries, posts on the Exchange, and messages you send to other members or to us through the Studio.
- Your activity in the Studio — which entries you have opened, which opportunities and posts you have expressed interest in, and when you were last signed in.
- How you arrived — if you reached us through a tagged link we posted (for example in a video description), we record which link it was.
What other members can see
The Studio is a members’ area, not a public one — but it is not private from other members. Your profile, and anything you post, is visible to every other signed-in member. That includes your name, photo, venture, what you are working on, what is in your way, the areas you can help with, and the contact links you added.
Your email address is never shown to other members. When someone uses “Send a note” to contact you, we send the message on their behalf; they only learn your address if you choose to reply. Your activity — what you have read, watched or expressed interest in — is never shown to other members. It is visible to our staff.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect certain information, including:
- Device and browser information — such as your browser type, operating system, and device type.
- Usage data — such as pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URLs, and click patterns.
- IP address — which may be used to approximate your general geographic location.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5 below.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide requested services.
- Send updates or marketing communications (only with your consent, where required by law).
- Improve and optimize our Site and services.
- Analyze usage trends and Site performance.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers — with trusted third parties who help us run the Site and the Studio, subject to confidentiality obligations. These are listed in full below.
- Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets.
- With your consent — in any other case where you have given us explicit permission.
Who processes your information
We use the following providers. Each processes personal information on our behalf, under their own security and privacy terms.
- Supabase — hosts our database, handles sign-in, and stores profile photos and images you upload.
- Resend — delivers our email, including sign-in codes, your welcome email, and notes sent between members.
- Mux — hosts and delivers the videos in the Studio.
- Sanity — stores the written content we publish. It does not hold member information.
- Attio — our customer relationship management system, which stores details you submit through our forms.
- Vercel — hosts the Site.
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising services, and we do not share your information with advertisers.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:
- Consent — where you have given us clear consent to process your personal data for a specific purpose (e.g., receiving marketing emails from us).
- Legitimate interests — where processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests and your rights do not override those interests (e.g., analyzing Site usage).
- Contractual necessity — where processing is necessary to fulfill a contract with you or take steps at your request before entering a contract.
- Legal obligation — where processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Site uses only essential cookies — those necessary for it to function. We do not use analytics cookies or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Sign-in cookies: when you sign in to the Studio, we set cookies that keep you signed in and identify your session. These are strictly necessary — without them the Studio cannot tell who you are, and you would be signed out on every page. Signing out removes them.
If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting them.
Video: videos in the Studio are delivered by Mux. When you play one, Mux receives the technical information needed to stream it, such as your IP address and device type.
Managing cookies: You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Site.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
All Users
- Correct your information — if you have a Studio account you can edit your profile at any time from your profile page.
- Delete your account — you can delete it yourself from that same page, without contacting us. See Section 7 for exactly what this removes.
- Opt out of marketing emails — you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any marketing email. Sign-in emails are not marketing and cannot be unsubscribed from while you have an account.
- Cookie preferences — you can manage cookies through your browser settings.
EEA/UK Users (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Rectify inaccurate personal data.
- Request erasure of your personal data.
- Restrict processing of your personal data.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing).

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
- Request deletion of personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell personal information).
- Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

7. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When we no longer need your information, we securely delete or anonymise it.
Deleting your Studio account
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from your profile page. Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period and we cannot restore an account once it is deleted.
Deleting your account removes:
- Your account and sign-in details
- Your profile, including your photo
- Posts you created on the Exchange, and any images attached to them
- Your activity — entries you opened, interest you expressed, and votes you cast
Comments you have written are not deleted. Your name is removed from them. They remain in their threads attributed to “Former member”. We do this because deleting a comment would also delete the replies other members wrote underneath it — their words, not yours. If you would like a specific comment removed as well, contact us using the details in Section 11.
Records we are required to keep for legal, accounting or fraud-prevention purposes are retained for as long as the law requires, regardless of account deletion.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Data Transfers
If you are accessing the Site from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Site, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
For EEA/UK users, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international transfers of personal data, in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our Site is not directed to individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
